Poetry in Plain Sight happens because poets, businesses, libraries, arts organizations, volunteers, and poetry lovers across North Carolina choose to make space for poetry.
Whether you want to display a poem, help bring PIPS to your community, or support the program financially, there are lots of ways to get involved.
Host Poetry in Your Community
Have a space where people gather?
PIPS posters are displayed in storefronts, libraries, bookstores, cafés, arts organizations, community spaces, and other public-facing locations.
If you’d like to display Poetry in Plain Sight posters at your business or organization, we’d love to hear from you.
Potential host locations include:

- Cafés and restaurants
- Shops and boutiques
- Arts and cultural organizations
- Community centers
- Universities and schools
- Other public-facing spaces

Become a Host City Coordinator
Bring PIPS to your community
Host City Coordinators are the local volunteers who help make Poetry in Plain Sight happen in communities across North Carolina.
Coordinators work with local businesses, libraries, bookstores, arts organizations, and other community partners to distribute PIPS posters and help connect local readers with the program.
Depending on the community, coordinators may also help organize readings or other PIPS events.
