MEETING OVERVIEW
We are excited to invite you to the next meeting of the North Carolina Poetry Society!
The next meeting will be held online, via Zoom, on Saturday, January 11th, from 10 AM to 2 PM!
We do hope you will join us!

The day will kick off with a showcase of readings by poets from Poetry in Plain Sight.
Following the Poetry in Plain Sight showcase, there will be an Open Mic, open to all in attendance as time allows.
After we break for lunch, we will finish our day with a generative workshop facilitated by poet, educator, and performer, Sara Deniz Akant, entitled “Freedom in Constraint: A Workshop on the Creative Potentials of OuLiPo”.
Sara Deniz Akant is the author of three books — most recently, Hyperphantasia (Rescue Press 2022), which was a New York Times book of the year, a Boston Globe book of the year, and won the Massachusetts Book Award in poetry. She is also the author of Babette (Rescue Press 2015), winner of the Black Box Poetry Prize, and Parades (Omnidawn 2014), winner of the Chapbook Prize. She teaches poetry as a Professor of the Practice at Tufts University, and co-curates the Kan Yama Kan reading series in Brooklyn.
