Use the menu above to explore, or if you’re unsure where to go first, here are some good places to start:
- To see information about upcoming NCPS meetings: Go to NCPS Events. You can also do this through the menu above, by clicking on the events link under ‘Poetry’.
- To find out about the NCPS poetry contests and awards: Go to Contests and Awards. This is also found in ‘Poetry’.
- If you’d like to be a member of the NCPS, go to the Membership page and print our membership form. Membership information, as well as history and current NCPS info, is found under ‘About’.
- Local and recurring events like open mic nights can be found in our Local Events, under the ‘Local’ menu.
- If you aren’t getting the online newsletter Emuse sent to your email, you should sign up here (anyone can get the Emuse newsletter, members and non-members). The newsletter is full of new events and announcements for the poetry community in North Carolina.

…poetry is and always has been a wonderful tool of communication…tweets are not new…facebook pages are not new…poets and writers have communicated in snippets, verses, lines, stories, sonnets, and plays for centuries…thanks NCPS for being a part of that for almost a century…you rock…
